How do Thick Tailed Bushbabies communicate?

Usually quiet little animals, they vocalise by making various sounds, depending on a specific situation. Loong, hard and mournful screams, similar to the cries of a baby, are uttered, hence the common name. These calls could possibly be connected with territorial communication.

Contact calls consist of squeaks, clicks, croaks and barks. Alarm calls could include squeaks, shrill whistles, chatters, chirps, yaps and yells. Alarm signals include a grating sound produced by scraping the horny combs on the outer edges of the feet against surfaces.
