Are there wild animals roaming around?
Yes, there are wild animals roaming freely in Marloth Park. You are not allowed to walk around after sunset for safety reasons. During the day, you can walk around and view animals. There are no lions, elephants, buffalo, or rhinos in Marloth Park, but occasionally lions and leopards cross the fence from Kruger Park.
Are there predators in Marloth Park?
Marloth Park has kudu, giraffes, zebras, warthogs, wildebeest, antelope, birds, and a few smaller predators and reptiles. Occasionally, lions and leopards enter from Kruger Park.
What animals are in Marloth Park?
Giraffe, wildebeest, kudu, zebra, impala, bushbuck, warthog, baboon, vervet monkey, and many birds. Occasionally lions and leopards enter from Kruger Park.
Is Kruger Park Hostel safe for solo female travellers?
Yes. Marloth Park is fenced and has controlled access. Crime is very low. The hostel has CCTV and alarms, and lockers for valuables. (We did have a baboon break-in recently—see
Instagram.)
Can you walk around in Marloth Park?
Yes, you can walk freely during the day because dangerous game like lions, rhinos, and buffalo are confined to Lionspruit and Kruger Park. Walking after sunset is not allowed. Marloth Park is guarded by 24/7 security.
